The challenges that we face in our lives are an opportunity for growth and healing. The fourth Lubavitcher Rebbe told us that when we face a difficult situation in our lives, we have a choice: We can either walk around the challenge or we can go into it and then rise above it. We can choose to avoid the situation and walk around the challenge, only to discover that it will come up again in one form or another in the future; or we can engage it, work with it, and ultimately become larger than who we were previously. There is no greater blessing in our lives than experiencing growth - of coming closer and closer to the person we were brought into this world to be. From this place of self-healing, we bring about repair and healing of the world.
